HABA Games {Review & Giveaway}

One of my daughter's first favorite games was one by HABA called the Sleepy Princess and the Pea Game, so when Haba offered us a chance to try another one of their games we jumped on the opportunity.

We were sent the game Wiggling Cow for review.  It's a simple game with plenty of room for fun and laughter.  The kids and adults enjoyed this one and I anticipate it becoming a huge hit with the twins once they are old enough to play along as well.

The premise is that Cow Elsa stands on a huge heap of grass (game cards).  The players try to pull the bales of grass out with the mini hay fork without knocking over Elsa.  This game helps in the development of your child's Hand-Eye Coordination and their Precise Motor Functions.

Animal Upon Animal – the Duel
Can an octopus sit atop a tiger with a goose on his paws? In this silly game for 2 players, ages 5 and up, anything is possible.  Each player starts with 4 different animal shapes. Roll a large die to indicate which animal goes on bottom. Then roll a smaller die to decide which animal shape goes on top. Two more animals to balance make this a battle of time and wits to be the first player to successfully stack all four animals first.

Wiggling Cow (Reviewed Above)
There’s no crying over spilled milk or in this hilarious game a “spilled cow.” Pile up the hay/flower cards and carefully pull on the cow’s tail and balance him on top of the cards. Each player uses the hayfork to harvest a card while trying not to tip over the cow.  Whoever collects the most cards wins! The rules permit the cow to tip up to 3 times during a round. A more challenging variation asks players to count the flowers on the cards! Designed for 1 to 4 players, ages 6 and up.

Castle Knights
The knights are racing to build the towers before King Duncan gets home! Players use a stretchy band, not their hands, to lift and build different castle towers shown on the picture cards. But watch the timer - you have to move quickly. Build a tower on each of the three levels before the King's arrival. Cooperative game designed for 2-4 players ages 5 and up.

HABA also offers many cooperative games, perfect for families with young children. In these cooperative games, siblings aren't playing against each other, they're working with one another to accomplish a common goal.
