As a Mom to twin Sid the Science Kid fans, I can't help myself from borrowing from Sid to start off this post. "I love this doll, this doll is cool ..." and now it's time to write my review.
You may have read my previous posts on the Sid the Science Kid TV Show and the available DVDs. We really love the show. It has colorful cool characters, peppy music, and an underlying educational message mingled among lots of fun. On my scale, you know a children's show is done well when older siblings (9, 11, & 15 years) don't moan and groan profusely when they see it is on again.
With this in mind, the arrival of our Talking Sid the Science Kid Doll was like a TV celebrity had entered our home. Sid is soft to the touch, 12 inches tall, and says 7 different quotable phrases when you push on his tummy. He even comes complete with his iconic microphone in hand.
We gave Sid a tour of our home, some hugs, and a seat of honor when we viewed the included DVD featuring "The Sticker Chart" episode. And guess what? We think Sid really likes us. We half expected his grandma to come pick him up just like she always does on the show, but gladly this cuddly Sid is here to stay.
