On January 5, Disney DVD released the beloved and heartwarming classic, Winnie the Pooh: a Valentine for You Special Edition. This Valentine themed animated collection features three Winnie the Pooh stories including a new-to-DVD adventure (“My Hero) a fun bonus feature (“Catch the Love Bug” game), Pooh-themed Valentines cards inside each DVD plus all features from the original.
The twins and I have watched this DVD (provided to us by Disney Home Entertainment) twice so far and it appears to be a hit with both boys as well as Mommy. What's not to love about Pooh Bear, Piglet, Tigger, Rabbit, Eeyore and the rest of the gang?
All three tales are very sweet. In a "Valentine for You", the gang worries Christopher Robin will forget all about them after observing him making a Valentine for a special girl. In "Un-Valentine's Day", Rabbit attempts to cancel Valentine's Day but a jar of honey ends up reviving this celebration of love. "My Hero" is a new-to-DVD adventure that shows the lesson of two friends truly helping each other. When Piglet saves Tigger’s life, Tigger decides to repay the favor by being Piglet’s servant. As you might guess, Tigger causes Piglet more harm then good in this job.
