Pop on Pals: New Toddler Toys by SpinMaster

A new toy line has popped on the toddler toy market that we think you will want to pop on to your holiday and birthday shopping lists.  The new entry is a unique line by Spinmaster called the Pop on Pals and we were thrilled they provided us with a selection of these toys for our review.  We were sent the Pop on Pals Amusement Park Playset, two of the 2 in 1 Mix & Match Fun Pal Packs (Policeman/ Baseball Player & Handyman/Fireman), and 2 Pet Packs (Barkley the Beagle and Daisy the Dalmatian).

The amusement park playset is perfect for multiple child play, but you'll need some extra sets of pals (as only 1 is included).  Fear not, several sets of "Pop on Pals" are available for individual purchase.  The amusement park, like any good carnival, has plenty of fun spots for the pals to be placed and several different functions.  I think the boys love the ferris wheel and dragon swing the most, but the roller coaster, strongest man hammer, and milk bottle slots are neat too.

Our twin two year old boys learned how to work many of the Amusement Park functions on their own after experimenting a while, but others did require an older sibling or parent to demonstrate once or twice.  In particular the switch that swaps moving either the swing or the wheel with a pal, was something we had to point out.  For the record, the older kids didn't complain about their role as Pop on Pal toy instructors in fact they got into it a little too much (see video).

The Pop on Pals themselves are the perfect size for their little hands and they really have gotten into popping on and off their different ring outfits and hats.  This is really a neat way to introduce the concept of dress-up and roleplay to the toddler crowd.  Popping on different apparel to take on different roles appeals easily to both boys and girls.  Just press down on the pal and pop-on mix n’ match rings.  The more pals you have the more unique and wacky combinations your child can make.  With a pop of a ring or two; toddlers can turn a puppy into a ballerina, a policeman into a cat, or a handyman into a chef.

Cormac loved the Pop on Pal dogs we were sent and seems to claim them first whenever the boys play with them together.  Declan tends to go for the handyman.  We'll definitely be looking for the other Pop on Pals to add to our collection in the future including some of the Pop on Pal Vehicles such as the interchangeable vehicles and the school bus.  You can visit their site to find a complete list of stores that carry Pop On Pals including Target, ToysRUs, and Amazon.com.
