A 2010 Holiday Gift Guide Pick from "And Twins make 5!"
In a household with 5 children, you'd think a skateboard would get a fair amount of use. However, while they love to snowboard and mess around on their scooter, the skateboard we long owned just sat. If it wasn't depressed enough before by the fact it was an unloved toy, it certainly has to be feeling dejected now. My 3 oldest have fallen in severe like with the Shred Sled. The Shred Sled is a next-generation caster board that combines the movements of snowboarding, surfing and skateboarding all into one unique experience. It is the first 4-wheel inline, dual-deck board of it's kind. My children have proven it to be much easier for kids to ride. It just took some repetitive twisting and wiggling for my kids to get it going. Once going, I can't seem to get them back off.
I'd high recommend this board for the age 8+ child that enjoys playing outside. It's been a recent source of much entertainment and exercise for my 9, 11, and 15 year old kids.
Here's some footage of my kids trying out the Shred Sled:
