This year Giddy Up's Scientific Explorer product line is introducing a variety of hands-on beauty kits including Heavenly Hair Kit, Bath Fizzer Kit, Shimmer Soap Kit, Blissful Body Mist, and a Lovely Lip Balm Kit. This range of new products is clearly aimed at getting the more girly of girls excited about science as well. My 9 year old, Cordelia, would definitely fall into that category of girly girl despite being surrounded by four brothers.
Team Mom provided us with the chance to review one of these new products. Cordelia & I tried out the Make your own lovely lip balm kit which allows you to make two lip balms. The kit came with 2 flower shaped compacts to hold the lip balms as well as the items needed to make it including oil phase, pink dye and fragrance, 2 wax phase, a mixing bowl, a spatula, and activity guide.
The entire experiment was fairly simple for Cordelia. I think she could have probably done it with a friend without me saying much at all. I'll definitely be keeping these kits in mind when we plan Cordelia's tenth birthday. I think buying multiples of these would make for a terrific party entertainment fun.
