Maukilo.com & HABA Toy Review (+ Giveaway)

About a year ago I wrote a review of a toy store called Maukilo.  They offer heirloom-quality toys from the finest European and American craftsmen.  It’s like a global treasure chest of the finest wooden puzzles, games, books and playthings.  It’s open 24/7 but only online at www.Maukilo.com.

I also reviewed one of their toy offerings, the Gymnic Rody.  It's one of those heavy duty blown up vinyl ride-on style bouncing toys.  That toy was a hit with my kids when it arrived last year and still remains favorite today.  If you are interested, you can read last year's full review of the toy and the store here.

This year Maukilo has completely revamped their website giving it not only a fresh look but an even easier interface for shoppers.  You can browse for toys by price, age group, category, brand, or even search for a specific themed item.  There is even a wish list feature.

I'd be remiss if I didn't again point out that Maukilo.com is owned by HABA, a renowned German toy company, and shares a warehouse with HABA in Skaneateles, New York. Because of this partnership, Maukilo.com is able to offer more than 1,500 HABA items, the widest selection of HABA products in the U.S. Maukilo rounds out its assortment with other wonderful brands, all of which meet the company’s motto: “Buy once. Play forever.”

As part of my revisiting the Maukilo.com site I was provided a toy to review again and I selected the "HABA’s Memo My Toys" this time.  It's your classic memory game done in a beautiful long lasting design of 20 illustrated beech wooden blocks.  We've had a lot of fun introducing this memory matching concept to our 2 year old twins.  To make it easier, we started them off slow by only using half the blocks.
