5 kids equals 5 pumpkins, 5 pumpkins equals lots of pumpkin seeds. I hate to waste things, much less toss out something I can turn into a healthy and delicious treat with minimal effort. So, after removing all the guts from our pumpkins on Sunday, it was time to sort, wash, and roast the seeds.
You'll need the following ingredients for my favorite recipe:
1/2 tablespoons margarine, melted
2 teaspoons Mrs. Dash table blend
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 cups raw whole pumpkin seeds
Preparing them is easy. First you preheat your oven to 275 degrees F. Next, combine the margarine, Mrs. Dash, Worcestershire sauce and pumpkin seeds. Mix them up thoroughly and place them in a thin layer on a baking sheet. Cook your seeds for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
