It's November which means the postman is now making daily stops at my home with a pile of colorful holiday catalogs. I give them all a quick browsing, some more than others, and toss them out that same day. I feel kind of horrible about just tossing them all out even if they are all going in the recycle bin.Yesterday, I was inspired by the shiny Sephora catalog to reuse it as scrap paper for a holiday garland. Once I started the project, I let my tween daughter take over. Cordelia plans on draping the paper garland from a mini Christmas tree she's lobbying for us to get for her bedroom.
What you need: Old catalogs or magazines, a large shaped paper punch, double sided scotch tape, and ribbon or string.
Instructions: Punch out several shapes from your magazines. Lay it on desk good side down placing a small strip of tape on the side not wanted to show. Lay your ribbon or string on top and sandwich the ribbon with another strip of tape followed by another paper shape. Repeat again and again until you reach the desired garland length.
