Leapster Explorer System from LeapFrog

Hopefully Santa has a stockpile of the new Leapster Explorer systems & games by Leapfrog this year, because Walmart has placed it on their Top Toys list.  This comes as no surprise to us after having the chance to try it out over the past few months.

Since the arrival of our provided unit for review this educational toy aimed at the 4-9 year old crowd has made the rounds in our home and been shared a bit with friends.

Our findings?  Grandma, Uncle Bill, or even Santa simply can't go wrong with this toy.  It has the educational elements that mom & dad love mingled in the midst of popular themed games such as Toy Store 3, Tangled, Princess & the Frog, Up, Star Wars, NFL Football, and more!  It's not just games either, it goes beyond the Leapster & Leapster 2 with the addition of e-Books, videos, and even a separately sold camera.  The screen is big and bright, the size is just right, and the buttons work wonderfully well with little non-precise fingers.

So how does it compare to the other new educational handheld gaming systems out on the market?  Here's a nifty chart Leapfrog put together to help you compare.

BTW Santa, we can't wait to get our hands on the camera!
