The Mystery of the Vanishing TV Remotes

Sadly, it has been said that the TV remotes are golden in our home.  The possessor holds the mighty power of choice (or at least they think they do).  Over the years power struggles have ensued over who gets it.  Breakfast time brings a narrow window of TV watching that all who dwell here crave as their own.  The oldest two boys want sports center.  My daughter, she longs for some teen / tween silliness.  Our toddler twins want Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Handy Manny, or some other Disney Junior program.

Off limits are these remote controlled keys to television happiness to the youngest two residents of our home.  This shouldn't be considered a disadvantage, as 9 times out of 10 they win the battle with Mommy and Daddy on their team.  As a result, we all spend half the day trying to get screams of "oh toodles" and the "hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog" song out of our heads.  Those little boys should be happy & satisfied with their reign as twin kings of the remote.

However, it is these youngest two royal residents that seem to be the prime suspects in a crime of epic proportion.  The Kitchen Television remote has gone missing for a second time in a month.  The first time it was never recovered and we painfully forked over $25+ dollars to DirecTV for another.  Again (and despite stringent guarding of this instrument) it is gone.  Missing!  Again we are unable to change the channel without trekking outside into a garage access panel area where the box for our kitchen is housed.

Like last time, a whole house search was conducted as well as all trash cans in the garage.  Nothing!  Again it is gone without a trace.  Where are they hiding two rather large white remote controls?  How can two 2.5 year olds pull this off twice?  Will we ever find them?

Stay Tuned ...  and in the meantime if you (or anyone you know) have seen this remote or have other information on it's whereabouts, please leave a comment below.
