A 2010 Holiday Gift Guide Pick from "And Twins make 5!"
I started dating my husband (of almost 20 years) a couple weeks before Christmas. For that first Christmas, he kept it simple and gave me a box of chocolates. An excellent call for someone you just met, who doesn't love chocolate? The following year he gave me a little jewelry box. Another can't miss item with me. I loved it and the whole sentiment behind it. It was going to be so much fun to see what treasures and baubles he would help me collect inside it over the years to come.
The next item on our Holiday Gift Guide is one of my favorites, the Onmii Jewelry Organizer. The Onmii puts a modern spin on the sentimental jewelry box allowing you to turn your collection of rings, necklaces, earrings, and bracelets into a piece of art beautifully displayed on your wall or on a dresser.
The Onmii resembles a fine crystal art piece, however it is a rounded raised corner acrylic board with holes. The pattern formed by the holes is often associated with chinese checkers. Also included are 6 frosted acrylic Onmii Flowerbuttons. These special orchid style buttons may be applied anywhere on the board granting you freedom to organize and reorganize your jewelry. The board is designed to decorate any wall or table in any room without dominating the interior of your home.
The Onmii is available in two sizes, a 32cm x 32 cm square or a 77.5cm x 28 cm rectangle. Additional flowerbuttons can also be purchased separately. Each flowerbutton has four petals with a small hole in each petal allowing it to hold post earrings. Necklaces and bracelets can be draped on the buttons and are held in place by the curved petals. Additionally, rings can be inserted into the center flower openings.
The overall effect is beautiful allowing you and the people around you to enjoy all those pieces you've collected even when you are not wearing them.
The Norwegian designed Onmii Jewelry board comes with 4 pre-drilled holes and the hardware needed for wall hanging. Also included is a metal rod that can be used to stand the Onmii Jewelry Organizer on a dresser, table, or nightstand. The packaging is beautiful too, just add a tag and bow.
*Much thanks to Onmii for providing me with this product for purposes of this review.
