Superstructs Custom Sets {Review + Giveaway}

For purposes of this review, I recently had the chance to order a Custom Superstructs Kit from WABA Fun LLC.  The new custom kit option allows the gift giver to combine sets and personalize the box cover for the receiver.


The process was a simple one, you simply click on the custom kit area, drag up to 3 kits over to the box to combine, and then click again to continue on to the custom template page.  Enter the name or names of the gift receiver and preview the box cover design.  What little one won't be extra excited to see their name on the box?  Box designs include birthday themes, Christmas/Hanukkah holiday themes, and congrats style themes.

If you aren't familiar with Superstructs yet, they are plastic rod and connector style construction toys that feature safe, durable EVA foam panels that 'pop' between the rods and joints. 

My twin 2.5 year olds have joined the big kids in some building fun with these on a couple occasions already.  I also tried my hand at them myself.  I thought they were a fun construction toy and was glad to see the twins were able to manipulate the pieces into random simplistic designs without frustration.  And of course, the older kids were able to take advantage of the provided directions to make several of the suggested models easily.

Worth mentioning is the fact that childhood expert Dr. Toy was so impressed with the Superstructs Custom Kits that she awarded them with two prestigious prizes: Dr. Toy 100 Best Children’s Products for 2010 and Dr. Toy 10 Best Creative Products for 2010.
