A 2010 Holiday Gift Guide Pick from "And Twins make 5!"
I'd be completely off target if I didn't include a cool music related gadget in the teen /tween section of our holiday guide. My oldest 3 kids (9, 12, & 16) have made it very clear that everything is a little more "kicky" in their world with the tunes playing. And since all 3 are very "on the go" sorts, this musical find needed to be ultra portable.
I was super excited to find just the right thing in the X-mini II capsule speaker. Wondering how I know that this one is an "it" item? All 3 kids have been hijacking the review model since the moment it arrived. It's gone with an ipod for hip-hop dance practice, it's been paired with an iphone in the backyard for some tunage on the court, and it's been hooked up to the laptop as well.
The X-mini II Capsule Speaker can go all these places with ease, because while this speaker has big sound it is small. In fact, it is under 2.5 inches. It features a 40mm driver that projects rich and full sound from its tiny capsule body.
The big kids practically drooled in triplicate when I told them that the X-mini II comes with an all new feature called the "Buddy-Jack". X-mini II owners can now come together and connect a row of X-minis to a single music source (e.g. MP3 player) to enhance the overall volume and audio clarity among a larger audience. In other words if they each asked for 1 for Christmas, they could combine all three for even bigger sound. Better yet, they can combine them with their buddies as well.
Luckily they are reasonably priced at $29.90 each, because I am thinking I want to keep this one for my own. Mommy needs something "kicky" too, right?
