B.R.A.T. feel better drink

The strep virus made an appearance in our household this past week taking on half of the 7 occupants despite my efforts to clean and quarantine.  One of the twins struggled to shake it along with symptoms such as fever, loss of appetite, and a bit of dehydration.  I felt really bad for the little dude.  Ultimately all he wanted to do was be held, glance at a book or the TV a bit, and sleep.  He's feeling better today.  He's moved beyond that pathetic stage to the grumpy feeling better "but still not himself" stage.

I had been sent a couple 32oz. containers of the new B.R.A.T. Feel Better Drink to review a few weeks back.   My secret hope was we would all stay illness free this winter, making the review impossible but that was not to be.  The drink is a blend of brown rice milk, banana and apple purees, and a dose of vitamins and minerals to calm pained and dehydrated stomachs.  The ingredients are all-natural, certified organic and lactose, gluten, casein, soy and corn-free with no added sugar or preservatives.

The B.R.A.T. drink is based off the same principles of the B.R.A.T. diet that doctors have been suggesting to parents of sick children to use for years.  The pediatrician and doctor-endorsed beverage was initially created for toddlers and children suffering from influenza, upset stomach or dehydration, but is also found to provide comfort and relief for morning sickness, radiation therapy and food allergies and intolerances.

Organic B.R.A.T. Feel Better Drinks are available in four nourishing flavors, including Original, Vanilla, Chocolate Honey and Cinnamon Toast.  Declan went for the chocolate honey the most, especially after I froze some in a tray and served it up as a fudgesicle.

You can find this drink at your local BabiesRUs, for more information please visit www.bratdietdrink.com.
