Kitchen Decor Babble & Towelocs

I found a clever kitchen and bath find, but first more babble from me on my latest project.  As you know, I'm in full blown decorator mode right now working on our little kitchen project.  It is a fun but at times a bit nerve wracking as I make each of the bigger decisions.

I'm still agonizing over the black vs. gray colored tile floor decision.  I really want to go for it and do the black.  However, my fear is that the black will make the kitchen too dark even with the all white cabinets and an all white backsplash.

If we do ultimately go for the black tile floor, we may depart from the now yellow walls and instead go for a very light tint of a color.  We actually uncovered a very pale shade of vintage green on the wall under the one cabinet that I find myself drawn towards.  Paint doesn't scare me nearly as much, if you hate it you can just paint again.  The floors are a decision I'm stuck with for keeps though.

Another fun element to pick out are the little extras that add a splash of color and style like dish towels, pot holders, and other accents.  This, by the way, brings me to my latest find.  It's a clever trinket that holds your towels in place on the bathroom towel bar, towel ring, oven door handle, or wherever you want to drape them called Towelocs.

The idea is a simple one, using the same concept as a post pin or earring it pushes through the towels and is capped in back with a locking fastener.  Towelocs are sold in two different post lengths depending on how you plan to use it and come as a set of two in a little tin.  Without taking the time to actually count, I'd estimate there are over 25 design choices.

I was sent two single charms by the company for this review, the fleur de lis shown in my kitchen photo and a glass one in arctic ice (shown on the right).
