Twins: United We Nap, Divided We Wake

The twins love to nap in the master bedroom.  It has always been easiest for me to manage, in this scenario they go willingly to nap without argument each day.  I just plop down in the bed with both of them for a few minutes and "voila".  It's right after the "voila" part that I sneak back out.

They are so sweet as they snuggle and sleep side by side.  It reminds me of those infant days.  I can still picture them just a couple days old snuggled up tight together in the same little crib.  My how my little boy twins have grown.

This togetherness at naptime was something we adopted early on, realizing it was best for us if our pair was on the same schedule.  They take their nap right after lunch each day (12:30ish) and the interval varies greatly, but can last about 2 hours give or take.

I've found they are really good about not waking the other when done napping.  It must stem back to babyhood when the first twin to wake was the first fed, only now the prize is a bit of alone time play with mommy before ones twin brother wakes up.

No rest for the wicked!  Naptime is a race for me to pick up toys, do dishes, clean the kitchen, flip laundry, and get fully bathed and dressed if I haven't yet.   Mingle in there an uninterrupted phone call, an email or two, a sideways glare at the dog that considered barking at the UPS man, and you'll easily see why it's the most productive moments I have all day.

Shh!
