ZhuZhu Pets Random Acts of Zhu

Shortly before Christmas, I had a chance to post about a donation project initiated by Cepia LLC the makers of popular ZhuZhu Pet toys.  My role was to share personally in the joy of giving and share my experience with my readers.

As my first post mentioned, I was provided me with 104 of their popular ZhuZhu Pets to give to a charity of my own choice.  The kids and I wrapped each of the 104 ZhuZhu pets and sent them off to Suzy's Caring Place which is part of Guardian Angel Community Services.   Suzy's Caring Place was named in honor of my now deceased aunt, Sue Manner Turk.  (Suzy to her family)  My Aunt was very involved in our community until the day she died and championed numerous causes and charities including the new Transitional Living Program at the Guardian Angel Home. Numerous individual gifts given to Suzy’s Caring Place in memory of my aunt have added greatly to it's successes.

Here's a bit more about what they do there: "Suzy’s Caring Place provides domestic violence victims a home to stay for two years to build independent, violence-free lives after receiving emergency shelter and community-based services. In order to break the cycle of violence, victims need to separate their lives and those of their children from the offender’s, to prevent homelessness, and/or repeat victimization. Central to the mission is aiding victims to realize their human dignity, to exercise their legal rights, and to develop renewed ways of living that promote harmony and well-being within themselves and their families."

I know the donation of these ZhuZhu Pet toys added some Christmas Holiday sparkle to 104 children in need of just that, a bit of holiday magic in the form of an electronic pet.  While now in a safe violence free setting,  many of these children likely left behind favorite belongings including their household pets and toys.  My Aunt would have loved to have seen all those wrapped gifts for the children.  Suzy was one of those people who never opted for gift cards, instead she always carefully picked out and wrapped a special gift for each person on her list.

Much thanks to Cepia LLC for this very generous donation to a charity near and dear to the hearts of our entire extended family, as well as many other families.
