Two years ago I reviewed a product called Boogie Wipes that I've continued to faithfully use on the kids since first discovery. If you missed
that review, the gist of it was that Boogie Wipes are superior to tissues when it comes to nose blowing and wiping. They utilize natural saline to dissolve boogies making them a far more pleasant experience than a dry tissue. Let's face it, kids cower from that tissue you are clenching because it can really hurt an already irritated nose.
Boogie Wipes make a frequent appearance on my Target shopping list during allergy and cold season. On any given day you'll likely find a pack in my car, a pack in my purse, and a pack in the guest bath downstairs, and several more upstairs. I use them on my twin 2.5 year olds noses all the time. A tissue couldn't hold a candle to their abilities to clean up their at times snotty and crusty little noses.
My allergy stricken nearly 10 year old daughter frequently has a few packs in various places too. Admittedly, I've been known to use them over a dry tissue myself. They just felt better, even if they were a little kiddie like in some ways. Clearly we weren't the only ones over 10 using them, as the makers of the Boogie Wipes have now released an Adult version of the product called
Achooz.
Achooz use the same gentle, patent-pending magic of saline, vitamin E, and aloe as the
Boogie Wipe products. The difference is in the more adult like Fragrance Free and Cool Menthol scents as well as the more subdued packaging. Gesundheit!
