The More Things Change, The More They Remain the Same

2 weeks

7.5 Months

This morning I found myself reflecting on the twins.  They have changed in so many ways since their arrival in our lives a few years ago.  I can't believe how big they've gotten and how well they've behaved with all the current construction mess in our home.  (knocking on wood) The biggest savior has been their best friend status with one another.

1 Year and 8 Month
On the outside, they look less and less like twin brothers each day.  Our Declan is quite a bit taller and he is good deal heavier too.  He looks so much like our oldest son (now 16) did at this age.  Our Cormac has lighter hair with the most heavenly golden highlights.  We keep his hair a bit longer because it suits him and the longer bangs function to hide a little forehead scar from sun damage.  Cormac's been dubbed a mini Justin Bieber by countless strangers.  Physical differences aside, the twins personalities also differ greatly from one another.  They are a science experiment of varying likes in dislikes.  One is obsessed with mini things right now ... for example he wants the baby fox, the tiniest car, the littlest apple.  Nonetheless the bond they share as twin brothers is one to envy and inspire.

2 Years and 8 Months
More changes ahead; a new kitchen, potty training, track season, preschool, much to come.  In fact, I find myself in dread as I soon embark on the quest to potty train two at a time.  However, I can't help but feel blessed to witness the special relationship they both share.  I'm holding out for double the initial frustration resulting in an outcome twice as nice.

I can hardly believe it, the twins late June birthdays will be here in a blink.  Three years old!  Some might regard the same birthday as a bother, but I doubt they'd have it any other way.
