New resource for Sports Moms from Gatorade

It was mainly another weekend of sports for the Wagner Family.  Oldest son, JC, ran in a Varsity Track invitational and second oldest, Hayden, participated with his good buddies in a local 3 on 3 basketball tournament.  And while Friday did bring some girl power fun with a belated birthday sleepover, the rest of the weekend found me in "Sports Mom" mode.

I'm clearly in good company in my role as a Sports Mom too.  According to a recent study by Gatorade, “Sports Moms” is a group of nearly 13 million strong.  To help Sports Moms support their athletes, Gatorade has developed a new website, Gatorade.com/moms as a resource for information and inspiration. Here Sports Moms like myself can find articles and advice on sports nutrition, training tips, etc., as well as documentary webisodes featuring real Sports Moms, not actors, as they share their stories about raising kids in sports.

I found a section on the "training table by Leslie Bonci" of particular interest as I struggle sometimes on what to feed them and when.  I particularly struggle with my oldest who is trying to put on as much lean muscle mass for football without bulking up too much for track.  To further complicate matters, JC is allergic to milk, eggs, & nuts.

The section on common sports injuries was also a good read.  We've been relatively fortunate in regards to the turn out of our sports injuries, but we've seen our share.  Much thanks to Gatorade for allowing me to share this with my readers.
