Boysterous: New from Manhattan Toy

My daughter has been a huge Groovy Girls fan for years.  It was her go to Birthday gift to others for ages as well, as she wanted all her pals to have some too.  Over time she has collected numerous dolls, outfits, a bed, a scooter, and more.  So when I heard that Manhattan Toy (the makers of Groovy Girls) was releasing a new toy line aimed at boys, I was thrilled.

The new Boysterous soft action figure line from Manhattan Toy seems perfect for the 3-7 year old male age group.  Boysterous features a group of sports-minded figures based on average kids.  The current line-up includes Slap Shot Sam (a hockey player), Touchdown Dylan ( a football player), Shredding Sean ( a snowboarder), Goalie Gavin ( a soccer player), and Half Pipe Pete (a skateboarder). 

The clever inclusion of magnets in each figures feet and hand allow the toy to hold on to their gear themselves. In other words, Shredding Sean can perform a corkside 540 followed by an alley-oop with his board attached and Goalie Gavin can guard goal side or dribble his ball up the line.

The Boysterous toy line also features a zip-bin with multiple uses I would deem as a must have accessory.  This one item serves 3 different functions, one being as handled carrying case storage for the figures and their gear when not in play.  The other two functions are encompassed in it's ability to serve as a dual sided Extreme Sports Zone play environment. One side allows for flat field play perfect for the football player, soccer player, or even the hockey guy. The second side zips to form a half pipe ramp that works equally well with Half Pipe Pete and Shredding Sean.

Manhattan Toy provided us with two of the dolls (Sean & Gavin) and the Extreme Sports Zone for our review.  Our twins, Cormac and Declan, have really taken a liking to this collection.  They've had a lot of fun pretend playing soccer with the figures and taking turns doing cool stunts on the half pipe.  I definitely see more of these characters being in our future.

This new line clearly has plenty of potential for further expansion.  The twins (with the help of their older siblings) are already hoping for future additions to include a basketball guy (with net accessory) and a track star with a baton and hurdles.
