Adjusting our Eating Habits to the School Routine

The twins are absolutely starving when they leave school every day.  They practically bolt past me to get to the nearest bench.  Once reaching it, they layout the reminder of items in their lunch boxes and have a picnic as they await their older siblings dismissals.

I've always fed the twins 3 meals but never pressured them to quickly clear their plate.  Instead, we allowed them to graze a bit on the healthy selection of items over the course of the day and eat a family dinner.  They twins would end up eating what probably equalled 6 mini meals and dinner as opposed to three large ones.  It worked for them and us at the time, but the arrival of school days means it is time for the boys to adjust their dining rituals.

We are working on eating a bigger breakfast in the morning to help them make it until the mid morning snack.  As best I can tell, they eat the mid morning snack I provide fairly well.  However, their lunch eating has been a bit lack luster.  I think they are distracted by the newness of the situation and all the action around them.  Hopefully they'll adjust to everything around them soon and eat a touch faster and a touch more.  In the meantime, you'll find us having a picnic by the school entrance each day after the final bell.
