Bike Safety: A Nightlight for Bikes

There is no debating it.  I am a total worrier when it comes to my kids being any where near the road.  I find myself constantly biting my tongue as other people's kids show up here without a bike helmet on or cross the street without even really looking.

As summer fades away so does the the amount of daylight, so I wanted to share this great bike safety feature now available.  As you probably already know, safety can be a huge issue as bikes are not designed to make children very visible to neighborhood traffic. With just a small reflector on the front and back of the bike and maybe the pedals, children can be almost invisible from the side. A new safety product called BikeGlow solves this problem by illuminating the entire frame of a bicycle in bright, flashing lights.

BikeGlow is a slender tube of lights that is wrapped around the frame of the bike and can be set for constant or flashing illumination to ensure that children can be seen on their bikes at all times – even in complete darkness.

We've put one of these BikeGlow snaking tubes to use a few times already and I think it's a terrific addition to any bike that might be racing to get home before dark.
