I give a virtual high five daily to the person who invented the flat iron. I only wish the person had done it sooner. What I would have given to have had one back in my tween / teen years along with some anti frizz products. I have very thick curly hair that is absolutely impossible to manage without both. I spent my teenage years stuck using a blow dryer and a round brush along with a set of hot rollers trying to redirect my curls into something less wild.
My daughter has much thinner hair with a manageable wave to it. She'd love to have some of my thickness and I'd love to have her wave over all my curls. A girl's just never satisfied fully when it comes to their own hair, right?
Cordelia is 10.5 and she is at that age when girls start asking for all sorts of beauty items but don't totally need any of that yet. However, she talked me into letting her have a flat iron for special occasions when school started a couple months ago. She has the
Infiniti by Conair. Specifically it is the Coniar CS710 Oil-Infused Ceramic Flat Iron. We like it because it is designed to protect and nourishes your hair as you straighten and style. She's been very responsible using it so far, no burns, no damage to her hair, and she's been great about putting it away in the spot safe we designated safe from our three year old twins.
Is your tween-ager interested in the whole world of hair appliances yet? Do you let them use a flat iron or curling iron? Cordelia's big thing now is that she wants a hair feather. Have you seen those? They are like a hair extension only it's an actual feather that stays in when you wash and even flat iron your hair.
*Much thanks to Conair for providing the flat iron mentioned for our review.
