Football and S'mores

Another year of high school football has come to a close.  My oldest son's team made it all the way to the state finals, but we returned without the victory.  What we did bring home was immense pride in our son and his teammates for all their hard work this season.  That and many fun memories from attending all those games.

If you asked the younger siblings, near the top of the list might have to be all the tailgating we did pre-game.  There were sandwiches, sloppy joes, popcorn, pizzas, and S'mores.  Did you know that S'mores have been declared the Official Dessert of Tailgating?

Two of the companies I work with all the time, The Hershey Company and Kraft Foods teamed up with football analyst Jesse Palmer to sweeten pre-game rituals with S’mores. For more than 80 years, Americans have gathered to enjoy S’mores, a classic treat made with the perfect combination of Hershey®’s Milk Chocolate, Kraft Jet-Puffed®Marshmallows, and Honey-Maid® Graham Crackers. Now, it’s easier than ever to make S’mores part of your tailgate by grilling them up on game day and following the easy “build it, wrap it, grill it” preparation method.

So how do you make S'mores on the grill? Simply build your S’mores to your liking, wrap in aluminum foil and grill them for 1 to 2 minutes on each side over a medium hot grill until the milk chocolate and marshmallows are perfectly melted between two graham crackers.

And while I'm still going to be missing my high school football action until next year rolls around, at least you always can have S'mores.

*Much thanks to Hershey's for providing us with samples to try the “build it, wrap it, grill it” method.  Yum!
