I originally reviewed the Tassimo T20 Brewer back in January and our love for the machine has only grown. To briefly reiterate we were immediately pleased by the unit's shorter design and more attractive exterior complete with customizable color panel inserts. However, it was the much hotter and overall better tasting beverages it produced that really sold us.
It has a lot to do with the barcode, "every beverage made by your TASSIMO brewer has its own single serve T DISC, which carries not only the perfect ingredients but also the perfect instructions. Your brewer reads a special barcode on each T DISC and immediately knows what to do: the right temperature, the right amount of water, and the right brew time. And that goes for a long list of beverages, from coffees, cappuccinos and lattes to iced coffees and mochas." Another key for me is the use of real milk instead of the powdered kind. If enjoy specialty beverages like café style cappuccinos and lattes; you'll find this makes a big difference in with flavor and texture.
Tassimo has changed up their line of available beverages quite a bit since my last review, adding some great new options. Including Gevalia Mocha, Gevalia Peppermint Mocha, Gevalia Columbia, Gevalia Dark Italian Roast, Gevalia Dark House Blend, and Gevalia Dark Breakfast Blend. We had a chance to try a few of them and were very impressed! Hubby was very pleased with the new darker "extra bold" blends and I was beyond bliss with their peppermint mocha. You just have to try that one!
